Biography

Open Mind is a 5 piece rock group. They formed in February of 2007. Open Mind's main influence is Guns 'N' Roses.

Matt Alexander is the lead vocalist for 'Open Mind'. He has been the singer since 'Open Mind' started. He also plays guitar, playing occasionally in sections of songs to fill out the song. He has been singing since June 2005. His influences come from a broad range of genres and musicians ranging from Axel Rose to Liam Gallagher.

Simon Flory is the Lead guitarist for Open Mind. He has been playing since January of 2005. Simon's main influence has come from bands such as Guns 'N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Jimmy Hendrix. Simon originally formed Danger in June of 2005 with Steve Poulson the Bassist of 'Open Mind'. Simon has played with many different bands and styles of music such as with his Father in a band called 'Chrysalis', which is a band that plays blues rock music.

Mat Polley is the rhythm guitarist for 'Open Mind'. He has been playing since August 2005. He joined 'Open Mind' in February of 2007, when they made the transition from 'Danger' to 'Open Mind' as they decided to increase the size of the band.

Steve Poulson is the bassist for 'Open Mind' he has been playing since January of 2005. He has discovered rocking bass lines from influences like 'Duff Mckagen' and 'Flea'. Steve has also adapted to playing with a jazz band headed by 'Ken Harratt'. Steve and Simon have both helped the band to progress. 

Gordon is the drummer for 'Open Mind'. He has been playing since September 2001, but didn't start producing his full potential till September of 2005, when he found his musical roots from several jamming sessions. Then in early 2006 he was asked to play for a band originally called 'Danger' which formed into 'Open Mind' in February of 2007.
